We here at Walker County Special Utility District, are dedicated to supplying a continuous and more than adequate source of water at a reasonable cost.

Walker County S.U.D. started as an idea during the late 1960s. Concerned community leaders from the Crabbs Prairie, Pine Prairie, and West Sandy areas each wanted a community water system for their respective constituents.

After years of tedious planning, the three areas decided to combine their efforts to form one consolidated water system which was chartered as Pine Prairie WSC. Starting with only three plant sites and approximately 700 connections, we now have nine plant sites and over 2000 connections as well as a name that represents the area we serve.

To ensure our promise of a continuous water supply, we have a $250,000 state-of-the-art facility with a computerized plant management system known as SCADA. The SCADA software allows us to monitor each plant remotely and will alert us instantly if there is a problem. If any problem should occur, our customer service-oriented staff will work to make sure it is quickly alleviated.
